Description

The Voltage Regulator LD33V is a fixed 3.3 V low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator from the LD1117 family, also known as the LD1117V33. It turns a higher DC input, such as 5 V from USB, into a steady 3.3 V supply for ESP8266 and ESP32 modules, sensors and other 3.3 V parts, and it can deliver up to 800 mA.

Voltage Regulator LD33V Specifications

  • Type: positive fixed low-dropout linear regulator (LD1117V33)
  • Output voltage: 3.3 V
  • Output current: up to 800 mA
  • Dropout voltage: about 1 V typical
  • Maximum input voltage: 15 V
  • Package: TO-220, 3 pins
  • Pinout (front view, left to right): GND, OUT, IN
  • Protection: internal current limit and thermal shutdown

Voltage Regulator LD33V Applications

  • 3.3 V supplies for ESP8266 and ESP32 boards
  • Powering 3.3 V sensors, SD cards and radio modules from 5 V
  • Battery-powered projects with an input of 4.5 V or more
  • Replacing a failed 3.3 V regulator on a PCB

What's in the Box

  • 1 × LD33V 3.3 V voltage regulator

Tip: Fit a 10 µF capacitor on the output, which the LD1117 needs for stability, and a 10 µF or 100 nF capacitor on the input, both close to the pins. The regulator turns the extra voltage into heat, so add a heatsink when dropping from 12 V or drawing high current.
