Description

The 125K RFID Tag is a passive RFID tag that works at 125 kHz, the low-frequency band used by many door entry and attendance systems. It needs no battery: the reader's field powers the tag, which then sends back its ID number. Use it with a 125 kHz reader to open doors, log attendance, or identify people and objects in Arduino and ESP32 projects.

125K RFID Tag Specifications

  • Frequency: 125 kHz (low frequency, LF)
  • Type: passive, no battery needed
  • Data: ID number read by the reader without contact
  • Read range: a few centimetres, depending on the reader and its antenna
  • Compatible with: 125 kHz RFID readers and access control systems

125K RFID Tag Applications

  • Door locks and access control systems
  • Staff and student attendance logging
  • Arduino and ESP32 projects with a 125 kHz reader module
  • Identifying tools, storage bins and other objects
  • Smart home projects that react to a known tag

What's in the Box

  • 1 × 125 kHz RFID tag

Tip: This tag works only with 125 kHz readers. It cannot be read by 13.56 MHz readers such as the RC522 module, so choose a 125 kHz reader for your project. Keep the tag away from metal surfaces, which shorten the read range.
