Description

The 24 Bit Neopixel WS2812 RGB LED ring is a round board with 24 individually addressable WS2812 RGB LEDs that runs on 5 V. Every LED has its own built-in driver chip, so a single data pin from an Arduino, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi Pico can set the colour and brightness of each LED separately for clocks, spinners, indicators and lighting effects.

24 Bit Neopixel WS2812 Ring Specifications

  • LEDs: 24 × WS2812 RGB LEDs (5050 size) with integrated driver
  • Supply voltage: 5 V
  • Control: one data line, LEDs chained in series
  • Colour depth: 8 bits per colour channel (24-bit colour, about 16.7 million colours)
  • Connections: 5 V, GND, data in (DI) and data out (DO)
  • Current: up to about 60 mA per LED at full white, about 1.44 A for the whole ring
  • Chaining: DO can feed the DI of another ring or strip

24 Bit Neopixel WS2812 Ring Applications

  • LED clocks and circular progress or level indicators
  • Status lights for robots, 3D printers and smart home devices
  • Wearables, costumes and decorative lamps
  • Learning addressable LEDs with Arduino and ESP32

What's in the Box

  • 1 × 24-LED WS2812 RGB LED ring

Tip: Use the Adafruit NeoPixel or FastLED library, add a 300–500 Ω resistor in the data line and a 1000 µF capacitor across 5 V and GND. When running many LEDs at high brightness, power the ring from a separate 5 V supply rather than the Arduino 5 V pin, and connect all grounds together.
