The 24pin Big socket is a wide 24-pin DIP IC socket, about 3.1 × 1.8 cm, for integrated circuits with 0.6 in (15.24 mm) row spacing. Solder the socket to your PCB or perfboard and plug the chip into it, so the IC is protected from soldering heat and can be removed or replaced at any time without desoldering.
