3 Channel Path tracing Module

The 3 Channel Path tracing Module is a line-tracking sensor board with three infrared reflective sensors in a row, left, centre and right. Each channel shines infrared light at the floor and detects how much is reflected, so it can tell a black line from a light surface and give a digital signal for each sensor. With three channels your robot knows whether the line is to the left, in the middle or to the right, which makes steering smoother than with a single sensor.

Tip: Mount the module close to the floor and test it over your actual track, because the distance and the surface finish affect detection. Connect each output to a separate digital pin and steer towards the side whose sensor sees the line.
