3mm Two-Color LED Module

The 3mm Two-Color LED Module is a small board with a 3 mm bicolour LED that contains two LED chips in one package. Turn on one colour, the other, or both together to mix a third shade, which makes it a simple way to show two or three states from a single indicator in Arduino projects.

3mm Two-Color LED Module Specifications

• LED: 3 mm, two colours in one package (usually red and green)
• Pins: 3, a common ground and one signal pin for each colour
• Control: digital on/off, or PWM for brightness and colour mixing
• Logic: works with 3.3 V and 5 V boards with suitable resistors

Tip: Add a 220–330 Ω resistor in series with each colour pin when using 5 V, unless your module already has resistors on board. Driving both colours at once with PWM lets you mix shades between the two colours.
