Description
The 44E A1344EUA-T Hall sensor is a small 3-pin digital Hall effect switch marked 44E on its face. 44E is the marking of the widely used A3144-type unipolar Hall switch: its output turns on when the south pole of a magnet comes close to the marked face and turns off again when the magnet moves away, making it a simple contactless magnet detector for Arduino and other microcontrollers.
44E A1344EUA-T Hall Sensor Specifications
- Type: unipolar digital Hall effect switch (44E / A3144 type)
- Supply voltage: 4.5–24 V DC
- Output: open collector, needs a pull-up resistor
- Output current: up to 25 mA sink
- Pins (marked side facing you, left to right): VCC, GND, OUT
- Trigger: south pole of a magnet near the marked face
- Package: 3-pin through-hole
44E A1344EUA-T Hall Sensor Applications
- Speed and RPM sensing with a magnet on a wheel or shaft
- Position and end-stop detection
- Door, lid and cover sensors
- Pulse counting in flow meters and anemometers
- Robot wheel encoders
What's in the Box
- 1 × 44E Hall effect sensor
Tip: Add a 10 kΩ pull-up resistor from OUT to the logic supply, or use the microcontroller's internal pull-up; the output goes LOW when a south pole is near, so turn the magnet over if nothing happens. The sensor needs at least 4.5 V, so power it from 5 V even with a 3.3 V board and pull OUT up to 3.3 V.
