Description
The Single-Phase AC Current Sensor Module measures alternating current in a single-phase circuit up to 5 A and turns it into an analog signal that an Arduino, ESP32 or other microcontroller can read on an ADC pin. It is a simple way to see how much current a lamp, fan, pump or small appliance draws, and to detect whether a load is switched on or off.
Single-Phase AC Current Sensor Module Specifications
- Measured current: single-phase AC
- Measuring range: up to 5 A
- Output: analog signal for a microcontroller ADC input
- Works with: Arduino, ESP32 and ESP8266; Raspberry Pi through an external ADC, since the Pi has no analog inputs
Single-Phase AC Current Sensor Module Applications
- Measuring the current of lamps, fans, pumps and small appliances
- Detecting whether a machine or load is running
- Home energy monitoring and IoT dashboards with ESP32
- Overcurrent alarms and automatic shut-off projects
- Electrical engineering labs and student projects
What's in the Box
- 1 × single-phase AC current sensor module, 5 A range
Tip: Take many samples over at least one full mains cycle (20 ms at 50 Hz) and calculate the RMS current in your code instead of relying on a single reading. Mains voltage is dangerous: keep all live wiring insulated and enclosed, and never touch the circuit while it is powered.
