8x IR Line Tracking Module - HY-S301

The 8x IR Line Tracking Module (HY-S301) is a sensor board with eight infrared reflective sensors in a row, used to detect a dark line on a light surface or a light line on a dark surface. With eight channels across the board, a robot can tell how far it has drifted from the line and steer smoothly, which makes it a strong choice for line-following cars and robotics competitions.

Tip: Mount the sensor close to the floor, usually a few millimetres above it, and keep the height constant. Strong sunlight can disturb infrared sensors, so test under the lighting you will use, and check the module's supply voltage and output type before connecting it to a 3.3 V board.
