The BC327 is a general-purpose PNP bipolar transistor in a TO-92 package, sold in a pack of 5. It handles up to 45 V and 800 mA of collector current, much more than a BC557, so it can switch relays, small motors, LED groups and buzzers from the positive side of the supply, or work in push-pull and amplifier stages with its NPN complement, the BC337.

Tip: For a PNP switch, connect the emitter to the positive supply and the load between the collector and ground, then pull the base low through a resistor of about 1 kΩ to turn it on. If the load supply is higher than your microcontroller voltage, drive the base through a small NPN transistor. The pinout is usually C-B-E, but check the datasheet of your part.
