BC557 Pack 5pcs

The BC557 is a general-purpose PNP bipolar transistor in a small TO-92 package, sold here in a pack of 5. It handles up to 100 mA of collector current and 45 V, which makes it a good choice for switching loads on the positive (high) side, small-signal amplifiers and current sources. It is the PNP complement of the popular BC547 NPN transistor.

Tip: Connect the emitter to the positive supply and the load between the collector and ground; pulling the base low through a 1 kΩ to 4.7 kΩ resistor turns it on. When driving it from an Arduino pin, keep the emitter on the same 5 V supply, or the transistor cannot switch fully off.
