Description
The DS1302 RTC Real Time Clock Module keeps track of the time and date for Arduino, ESP32 and other microcontroller projects, so your data logger, clock or timer knows the real time even after a reset. It is built around the DS1302 timekeeping chip with a 32.768 kHz crystal and has a holder for a backup coin cell. This version is supplied without the battery.
DS1302 RTC Real Time Clock Module Specifications
- Chip: DS1302 trickle-charge timekeeping IC
- Timekeeping: seconds, minutes, hours, date, month, day of week and year, with leap-year compensation up to 2100
- Clock format: 24-hour or 12-hour with AM/PM
- Interface: simple 3-wire serial (CE/RST, I/O data, SCLK)
- Memory: 31 bytes of battery-backed static RAM
- Operating voltage: 2.0–5.5 V
- Module pins: VCC, GND, CLK, DAT, RST
- Backup battery: not included
DS1302 RTC Real Time Clock Module Applications
- Digital clocks and alarm clocks
- Time-stamping sensor readings in data loggers
- Timers that switch relays, lights or pumps at set times
- Learning serial communication and timekeeping with Arduino
What's in the Box
- 1 × DS1302 real time clock module (battery not included)
Tip: Fit a coin cell in the holder so the module keeps time when the main power is off; without it the time is lost at every power cut. The DS1302 does not use I2C, so use a DS1302 library and connect CLK, DAT and RST to any three digital pins.
