E18-D80NK Adjustable Infrared Sensor Switch 3-80cm IR yellow

The E18-D80NK Adjustable Infrared Sensor switch is a diffuse-reflection infrared proximity sensor in a cylindrical threaded housing. It sends out infrared light and switches its digital output when an object reflects the light back, with a detection distance you can set from 3 cm to 80 cm using the adjustment screw at the back. It is a favourite for obstacle-avoiding robots, smart cars and object counting.

Tip: The output is an NPN transistor, so add a 10 kΩ pull-up resistor to your board's logic voltage (5 V for Arduino Uno, 3.3 V for ESP32) or use INPUT_PULLUP. The range depends on the object: dark or shiny surfaces are detected at shorter distances than white ones.
