Description
The ECG Kit AD8232 is a heart signal sensor kit built around the AD8232 single-lead ECG front end from Analog Devices. It amplifies and filters the tiny electrical signals of the heart, picked up by electrodes on the skin, and gives an analog output that an Arduino, ESP32 or other microcontroller can read and plot. It is a popular kit for biomedical engineering students and heart rate projects.
ECG Kit AD8232 Specifications
- Sensor IC: AD8232 single-lead heart rate monitor front end
- Supply voltage: 3.3 V
- Output: analog ECG signal for a microcontroller ADC input
- Lead-off detection: LO+ and LO− outputs
- Shutdown: SDN pin for low-power mode
- Electrode connection: 3.5 mm jack for a 3-lead sensor cable
ECG Kit AD8232 Applications
- Learning how ECG signals work in biomedical engineering classes
- Heart rate monitors with Arduino or ESP32
- Plotting the heart signal on the Arduino Serial Plotter
- Fitness and wearable prototypes
- University and school research projects
What's in the Box
- 1 × AD8232 ECG sensor module
- 1 × 3-lead sensor cable with 3.5 mm plug
- Electrode pads (quantity may vary)
Tip: This kit is for learning and experiments, not for medical diagnosis. Power it from 3.3 V, and for safety and a cleaner signal run your laptop on battery rather than mains while the electrodes are on the body; place the pads on clean skin and keep still while measuring.
