Description
The ESP-07 ESP8266 Serial WIFI Module is a small shielded Wi-Fi module built around the ESP8266 chip. Besides its on-board ceramic antenna it has an IPEX (U.FL) connector for an external antenna, which helps when the module sits inside a metal box or far from the router. You can control it with AT commands from another microcontroller or program it directly with the Arduino IDE for stand-alone IoT devices.
ESP-07 ESP8266 Serial WIFI Module Specifications
- Chip: ESP8266, 32-bit microcontroller with built-in Wi-Fi
- Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4 GHz
- Supply voltage: 3.3 V (do not connect 5 V)
- Antenna: ceramic antenna plus IPEX (U.FL) connector
- Interfaces: UART, GPIO with PWM, 1 analog input (ADC)
- Package: 16 castellated pads at 2 mm pitch, metal shield
ESP-07 ESP8266 Serial WIFI Module Applications
- IoT sensor nodes and remote data logging
- Wi-Fi relays, switches and home automation
- Adding Wi-Fi to an Arduino over a serial link
- Projects in metal enclosures that need an external antenna
What's in the Box
- 1 × ESP-07 ESP8266 Wi-Fi module
Tip: Power it from a 3.3 V regulator that can deliver a few hundred mA, as Wi-Fi transmission draws current peaks. For a normal boot pull EN and GPIO0 high and GPIO15 low; hold GPIO0 low during reset to upload new firmware. The 2 mm pad pitch does not fit a breadboard, so use an adapter board.
