Description

The ESP32-CAM Programming Shield FTDI adapter with USB is a small board that plugs under an ESP32-CAM so you can program and power it straight from a computer's USB port. It replaces the usual separate USB-to-serial (FTDI-type) adapter and jumper wires, and its buttons for reset and boot mode make uploading Arduino or MicroPython code to the ESP32-CAM much quicker.

ESP32-CAM Programming Shield Specifications

  • Compatible board: ESP32-CAM (AI-Thinker pinout)
  • Function: USB-to-serial programming and 5 V power for the ESP32-CAM
  • Connections: USB port to the computer, female headers for the ESP32-CAM
  • Buttons: IO0 (boot / flash mode) and RST (reset)
  • Software: Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF or MicroPython

ESP32-CAM Programming Shield Applications

  • Uploading code to the ESP32-CAM without extra wiring
  • Reading debug messages in the serial monitor
  • Powering the camera board during bench tests
  • Wi-Fi camera, face detection and time-lapse projects

What's in the Box

  • 1 × ESP32-CAM programming shield

Tip: In the Arduino IDE, choose the AI Thinker ESP32-CAM board and the shield's COM port; if no port appears, install the driver for its USB-serial chip (usually CH340). If an upload fails, hold IO0, press RST, release IO0 and upload again.
