Description

The GY-61 ADXL335 3-axis accelerometer is a small breakout module built around the Analog Devices ADXL335 sensor. It measures acceleration on the X, Y and Z axes and gives each one as an analog voltage, so you can read it with any Arduino or ESP32 analog input and work out tilt angle, motion or vibration.

GY-61 ADXL335 3-axis accelerometer Specifications

  • Sensor: ADXL335, 3-axis MEMS accelerometer
  • Measuring range: ±3 g (minimum full scale)
  • Outputs: 3 analog voltages (X, Y, Z), ratiometric to the sensor supply
  • Sensitivity: about 300 mV/g at a 3 V sensor supply
  • Module supply: 3–5 V, with an on-board 3.3 V regulator
  • Sensor current: about 350 µA
  • Pins: VCC, GND and the X, Y and Z outputs

GY-61 ADXL335 3-axis accelerometer Applications

  • Tilt and angle measurement for robots, platforms and levels
  • Motion and shake detection
  • Vibration monitoring on motors and machines
  • Game controllers and gesture input
  • Physics experiments and STEM projects

What's in the Box

  • 1 × GY-61 ADXL335 accelerometer module

Tip: At rest, each output sits at about half the sensor supply (around 1.65 V at 3.3 V). For better resolution on a 5 V Arduino, connect the module's 3.3 V supply to AREF, call analogReference(EXTERNAL), then calibrate each axis by pointing it straight up and straight down.
