Description

The HC-06 6pin Bluetooth Module adds wireless serial communication to an Arduino or other microcontroller using classic Bluetooth (SPP). Wired to the TX and RX pins, it works like a wireless serial cable to an Android phone, tablet or PC. This version has a 6-pin header and no on-board button, and the HC-06 works as a slave only, so you simply pair it from the phone and start sending data.

HC-06 6pin Bluetooth Module Specifications

  • Bluetooth: version 2.0 + EDR, Serial Port Profile (SPP)
  • Role: slave only
  • Supply voltage: 3.6 V to 6 V on the VCC pin
  • Logic level: 3.3 V on TXD and RXD
  • Default settings: name HC-06, PIN 1234, 9600 baud
  • AT commands: accepted while the module is not paired
  • Range: about 10 m in open space
  • Header: 6 pins, including VCC, GND, TXD and RXD; no button

HC-06 6pin Bluetooth Module Applications

What's in the Box

  • 1 × HC-06 Bluetooth module, 6 pins

Tip: Connect TXD to the Arduino RX and RXD to TX, with a 1 kΩ and 2 kΩ voltage divider on RXD when using a 5 V board. On an Uno, unplug the module from pins 0 and 1 while uploading a sketch, or use SoftwareSerial on other pins. Classic Bluetooth pairs with Android phones and PCs, not iPhones.
