IC 74266 Quad XNOR Gate

The IC 74266 Quad XNOR Gate is a 74-series logic chip with four independent 2-input exclusive-NOR (XNOR) gates. Each output is high when both inputs are equal and low when they differ, which makes the chip a natural fit for equality checks and digital comparators. The outputs are open-collector, so several can be tied together to compare whole binary words.

Tip: Connect a pull-up resistor, for example 2.2 kΩ to 10 kΩ, from each output to 5 V; without it the output cannot go high. Tie unused inputs to GND or VCC rather than leaving them floating.
