IIC/I2C Serial Interface Adapter Module

The IIC/I2C Serial Interface Adapter Module is a PCF8574-based backpack board for character LCDs with the standard HD44780 16-pin interface, such as the 1602 and 2004. Solder it to the back of the display and you can drive the LCD with just two wires, SDA and SCL, instead of six or more data pins, leaving your Arduino or ESP32 pins free for sensors and buttons.

Tip: Use the LiquidCrystal_I2C library and run an I2C scanner sketch first to find the module's address. If the screen lights up but shows no characters, turn the contrast potentiometer slowly until the text appears.
