Mosfet Transistor IRF520

The Mosfet Transistor IRF520 is an N-channel power MOSFET rated for 100 V and about 9 A in a TO-220 package. It is a common, robust part for switching and controlling DC loads such as motors, lamps and solenoids, and for general power switching in hobby projects, power supplies and repair work.

Tip: The IRF520 is not a logic-level MOSFET: it needs about 10 V on the gate to turn fully on. From a 5 V Arduino pin it only partly conducts and can overheat at high current, so use a gate driver or transistor stage, or choose a logic-level part such as the IRL2203.
