Mosfet Transistor IRF9640

The Mosfet Transistor IRF9640 is a P-channel power MOSFET in a TO-220 package, rated for -200 V and -11 A. It is the P-channel complement of the IRF640, so the pair is a common choice for MOSFET audio amplifier output stages, and it also works well as a high-side switch in power supplies, inverters and motor control circuits.

Tip: Connect the source to the positive supply and the load to the drain. The MOSFET turns on when the gate is pulled about 10 V below the source, so use a pull-up resistor from gate to source and an NPN transistor or driver to control it, and mount it on a heatsink at high currents.
