Mosfet Transistor IRL3803

The Mosfet Transistor IRL3803 is a logic-level N-channel power MOSFET in a TO-220 package, rated 30 V and 140 A with an on-resistance of just 6 mΩ at 10 V and 9 mΩ at 4.5 V gate drive. Because it turns on well with a low gate voltage, it can be driven directly from 5 V microcontroller pins to switch high-current loads in 12 V and other low-voltage systems.

Tip: Connect the source to ground and the load between the positive supply and the drain. Drive the gate through a 100 Ω to 220 Ω resistor and add a 10 kΩ pull-down from gate to source. The gate is rated only ±16 V, so never drive it from a 24 V supply, and expect a higher on-resistance than the 4.5 V figure when driving it from 3.3 V.
