Mosfet Transistor IRL540

The Mosfet Transistor IRL540 is a logic-level N-channel power MOSFET rated for 100 V and 28 A. Because it is specified to turn on fully with only 5 V on the gate, it can be driven straight from a 5 V Arduino pin to switch motors, LED strips, solenoids and other heavy DC loads. It comes in a TO-220 package for easy heatsink mounting.

Tip: Use it as a low-side switch: source to ground, load between the positive supply and the drain. Add a 100–220 Ω gate resistor, a 10 kΩ pull-down from gate to source and a flyback diode across inductive loads, and never exceed ±10 V on the gate.
