JFET Transistor 2N5458

The JFET Transistor 2N5458 is a general-purpose N-channel junction field-effect transistor in a TO-92 package. Its gate draws almost no current, so it presents a very high input impedance, which makes it a favourite for audio preamplifiers, guitar effects pedals, buffer stages and sensor front ends. As a depletion-mode device it conducts at 0 V gate bias and is turned off by a negative gate voltage.
