LCD1602 LCD Keypad Shield Blue Backlight

The LCD1602 LCD Keypad Shield plugs straight onto an Arduino Uno and adds a 16x2 character display with a blue backlight plus a set of push buttons, with no wiring needed. It is a quick way to give a project a menu, show sensor readings or let the user set values, and it works with the standard Arduino LiquidCrystal library.

Tip: Start your sketch with LiquidCrystal lcd(8, 9, 4, 5, 6, 7); and read the buttons with analogRead(A0), since each key gives a different voltage. If the screen lights up but shows no text, turn the contrast potentiometer slowly until the characters appear.
