LCD2004 Blue Backlight

The LCD2004 Blue Backlight is a 20-character by 4-line alphanumeric LCD module with white characters on a blue background. It is built around the standard HD44780-compatible controller, so it works with the Arduino LiquidCrystal library and most microcontrollers, and it shows four full lines of text for menus, readings and messages.

Tip: Wire it in 4-bit mode with RS, E and D4–D7 to save pins, and connect a 10 kΩ potentiometer to the V0 pin for contrast; blue displays often need the contrast set carefully before the text appears. For fewer wires, fit a PCF8574 I2C backpack and use only SDA and SCL.
