LCD2004 Yellow Green Backlight

The LCD2004 Yellow Green Backlight is a 20-character by 4-line alphanumeric LCD module with dark characters on a yellow-green background. It uses the standard HD44780-compatible controller, so it works straight away with the Arduino LiquidCrystal library, and its four lines give plenty of room for menus, sensor readings and status messages.

Tip: In 4-bit mode the display needs six Arduino pins (RS, E and D4–D7) plus a 10 kΩ potentiometer for contrast. If the backlight is on but no text shows, adjust the contrast. To save pins, add an I2C adapter board (PCF8574 backpack) and drive the display with just SDA and SCL.
