Description
The LM2596 Adjustable Power Supply Module is a step-down (buck) DC-DC converter built around the LM2596 switching regulator. It takes a higher DC voltage, such as 12 V or 24 V, and converts it efficiently to a lower voltage that you set with the multi-turn potentiometer on the board. It is a common way to power Arduino, ESP32, sensors, LED strips and small motors from a battery or adapter.
LM2596 Adjustable Power Supply Module Specifications
- Regulator IC: LM2596 adjustable, 150 kHz switching

- Output current: up to 3 A peak, about 2 A continuous without extra cooling
- Adjustment: multi-turn trimmer potentiometer
- Connections: IN+ / IN− and OUT+ / OUT− pads
LM2596 Adjustable Power Supply Module Applications
- Powering Arduino and ESP32 boards from 12 V or 24 V supplies
- Running 5 V sensors, servos and USB devices from a car or solar battery
- Simple adjustable supply for testing circuits on the bench
- Driving LED strips and small DC loads at a set lower voltage
What's in the Box
- 1 × LM2596 adjustable step-down power supply module
Tip: Set the output with a multimeter before you connect your load, because the module may arrive set to a voltage that could damage a 3.3 V or 5 V board. Double-check the input polarity before powering up, and add a heatsink if you draw close to 2 A for long periods.
