Description
The LM386 Audio Amplifier Module is a small, low-power audio amplifier board based on the LM386 chip. It runs from 4 V to 12 V and boosts weak audio signals from an Arduino, MP3 player, phone or microphone preamp enough to drive a small speaker. It is a simple, low-cost way to add sound to battery-powered gadgets and DIY electronics projects.
LM386 Audio Amplifier Module Specifications
- Amplifier IC: LM386 low-voltage audio power amplifier
- Supply voltage: 4–12 V DC
- Channels: 1 (mono)
- Speaker: small speaker, typically 8 Ω
- Output power: low, a few hundred milliwatts depending on supply voltage and speaker
LM386 Audio Amplifier Module Applications
- Adding sound, tones and voice to Arduino and ESP32 projects
- Small speakers for MP3, radio and phone audio
- Intercoms, doorbells and alarm sounders
- Learning audio amplification in electronics classes
What's in the Box
- 1 × LM386 audio amplifier module
Tip: Feed the module a line-level or other small signal, not the output of another amplifier, and keep the input and speaker wires short to avoid hum. A separate supply or a large capacitor across the power pins helps reduce noise from motors or Wi-Fi boards.
