The AM312 Sensor is a mini pyroelectric infrared (PIR) body motion detector module. It senses the infrared heat of a moving person and switches its output HIGH for a short time, ready to drive a microcontroller input or a transistor. With its tiny size, low current draw and wide supply range, it is ideal for compact and battery-powered motion projects.

AM312 Sensor Specifications

• Sensor: AM312 digital pyroelectric infrared sensor with a Fresnel lens
• Supply voltage: 2.7–12 V DC (typical AM312 rating)
• Output: digital, HIGH (about 3 V) when motion is detected, LOW when idle
• Delay time: about 2 s, fixed, and retriggers while motion continues
• Standby current: very low (microamp range)

Tip: Allow about a minute after power-up for the sensor to settle before testing. Mount it away from heaters, air vents and direct sunlight, and point it across the path people walk, where PIR sensors detect motion best.
