Description
The Op-Amp (15MHz) CA3130 is a BiMOS operational amplifier that combines a MOSFET input stage with a CMOS output stage. It has an extremely high input impedance, input current in the picoamp range, an output that can swing to either supply rail and a gain-bandwidth of 15 MHz. It is well suited to single-supply circuits, sensor buffers, sample-and-hold stages and comparators.
Op-Amp (15MHz) CA3130 Specifications
- Type: BiMOS op-amp, MOSFET inputs and CMOS output
- Gain-bandwidth: 15 MHz
- Supply voltage: 5 V to 16 V single, or ±2.5 V to ±8 V dual
- Input impedance: about 1.5 TΩ (typical)
- Input current: about 5 pA (typical, at 15 V)
- Input range: common-mode range includes the negative supply rail
- Output: CMOS stage, swings close to both supply rails
- Compensation: external, one capacitor between pins 1 and 8; pin 8 can also be used for strobing
- Pins: 8
Op-Amp (15MHz) CA3130 Applications
- High-impedance buffers for sensors and probes
- Sample-and-hold circuits and peak detectors
- Single-supply comparators and voltage followers
- Long-period timers and oscillators using large resistor values
- Active filters and instrumentation projects
What's in the Box
- 1 × CA3130 op-amp IC
Tip: The CA3130 is not internally compensated, so for unity-gain or low-gain circuits fit the compensation capacitor between pins 1 and 8 as shown in the datasheet. Keep the total supply at 16 V or less; it cannot run from ±15 V like a 741.
