Description
The Op Amp LF356 is a single operational amplifier with JFET inputs, giving it a very high input impedance and an input bias current measured in picoamps. With a 5 MHz gain-bandwidth product and a 12 V/µs slew rate, it is faster than general-purpose op-amps such as the 741 and suits precision analog work: integrators, sample-and-hold circuits, active filters and buffers for high-impedance sensors.
Op Amp LF356 Specifications
- Type: single JFET-input operational amplifier
- Supply voltage: 10 V to 36 V total (±5 V to ±18 V)
- Gain-bandwidth product: 5 MHz typical
- Slew rate: 12 V/µs typical
- Input bias current: 30 pA typical
- Input impedance: about 10¹² Ω
- Supply current: about 5 mA
- Pins: 8, standard single op-amp pinout (2 = inverting input, 3 = non-inverting input, 6 = output, 7 = V+, 4 = V−, 1 and 5 = offset balance)
Op Amp LF356 Applications
- Precision integrators and sample-and-hold circuits
- Active filters and audio preamplifiers
- Buffers for photodiodes, photocells and other high-impedance sources
- Fast D/A and A/D converter interfaces
- Analog electronics labs and university projects
What's in the Box
- 1 × LF356 JFET-input op-amp
Tip: The LF356 needs at least 10 V across its supply pins, so power it from ±5 V to ±15 V rather than a single 5 V rail. Its pinout matches the 741, which makes it an easy upgrade in many circuits; fit 100 nF decoupling capacitors close to both supply pins.
