Description
The PWM Servo Driver 16 Channel 12-bit is a PCA9685-based board that generates 16 independent PWM signals and is controlled over I2C with just two data wires. It takes the timing work off your Arduino, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi, so you can run up to 16 servo motors or dim 16 LEDs smoothly, and several boards can share one bus for even more outputs. It is a favourite for robot arms, hexapods and animatronics.
PWM Servo Driver 16 Channel 12-bit Specifications
- Controller: PCA9685
- Channels: 16 PWM outputs
- Resolution: 12-bit (4096 steps)
- PWM frequency: adjustable from about 24 Hz to 1526 Hz (50 Hz for servos)
- Interface: I2C, default address 0x40
- Addressing: 6 address bits, up to 62 boards on one I2C bus
- Servo power: separate V+ supply input for the servos
PWM Servo Driver 16 Channel 12-bit Applications
- Robot arms, hexapods and humanoid robots
- Pan-tilt camera mounts
- LED dimming and RGB lighting effects
- Animatronics and moving models
- Robotics clubs, competitions and university labs
What's in the Box
- 1 × 16-channel 12-bit PWM servo driver board (PCA9685)
Tip: Power the servos from a separate 5–6 V supply on the V+ input, not from the Arduino's 5 V pin, and connect all grounds together. With the Adafruit PWM Servo Driver library, set the frequency to 50 Hz for standard analog servos.
