Quad Bilateral Switch CD4007

The CD4007 is a CMOS dual complementary pair plus inverter: one 14-pin chip with three N-channel and three P-channel enhancement-mode MOSFETs, with most of their gate, source and drain terminals brought out to separate pins. Because you wire the transistors yourself, it can be built into inverters, NAND and NOR gates, transmission gates (analog switches) and simple amplifiers, which makes it a classic chip for learning how CMOS logic works.

Tip: CMOS inputs are sensitive to static, so handle the chip by its edges and tie every unused gate input to VDD or VSS. Always connect pin 14 (VDD) and pin 7 (VSS), even when you use only one transistor pair, because the MOSFET substrates are connected to these pins.
