Description
The Resistive Membrane Pressure Sensor FSR406 is a thin force-sensitive resistor (FSR) with a square sensing pad and long leads, rated for loads up to 10 kg. Its resistance drops as more pressure is applied, so with a simple voltage divider an Arduino or ESP32 can tell whether something is being pressed and roughly how hard. It suits robotics, wearables, smart seats and interactive projects.
Pressure Sensor FSR406 Specifications
- Type: resistive membrane force-sensitive resistor (FSR)
- Model: FSR406, square sensing area
- Force range: up to 10 kg
- Leads: long-leg version, 2 terminals
- Behaviour: very high resistance with no load, falling as pressure increases
- Construction: thin, flexible film
Pressure Sensor FSR406 Applications
- Detecting presence on seats, beds and floor mats
- Robot grippers and touch feedback
- Wearable and musical instrument controllers
- Interactive displays and pressure-sensitive buttons
What's in the Box
- 1 × FSR406 resistive membrane pressure sensor
Tip: Connect the sensor in series with a 10 kΩ resistor between 5 V (or 3.3 V) and GND, and read the middle point with an analog pin. FSRs are good for detecting touch and relative force, not for precise weighing; for accurate weight use a load cell with an HX711 amplifier.
