Description

The RPLIDAR A1 Laser Ranging Sensor from Slamtec is a low-cost 360° 2D lidar that spins a laser range finder to scan its surroundings and output distance and angle points in real time. It is widely used with ROS for SLAM mapping, localisation and obstacle avoidance on mobile robots, and it connects to a Raspberry Pi, Jetson board or PC through a serial (UART) interface.

RPLIDAR A1 Laser Ranging Sensor Specifications

  • Manufacturer: Slamtec

RPLIDAR A1 Laser Ranging Sensor Applications

  • SLAM mapping and navigation with ROS and ROS 2
  • Obstacle detection for robot cars and autonomous vehicles
  • Robotics competitions and university research
  • Room scanning and people or object detection

What's in the Box

  • 1 × RPLIDAR A1 360° laser ranging sensor

Tip: Give the sensor a stable 5 V supply, as a weak USB port can make the motor speed and scan rate unstable. Mount it level with a clear view all around, and test it with Slamtec's SDK or the rplidar_ros driver before adding it to your robot.
