Description
The RTC DS1307 24C32 Real Time Clock Module +Battery keeps track of the time and date for Arduino and other microcontroller projects, even while the main power is off. It combines the DS1307 real-time clock chip with a 24C32 EEPROM for storing data, both on the I2C bus, and comes with a coin cell backup battery so the clock keeps running when your project is unplugged.
RTC DS1307 24C32 Real Time Clock Specifications
- RTC chip: DS1307, counts seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month and year, with leap-year correction up to 2100
- Time format: 12-hour or 24-hour
- RAM: 56 bytes of battery-backed RAM in the DS1307
- EEPROM: 24C32, 32 Kbit (4 KB)
- Interface: I2C (SDA, SCL), DS1307 at address 0x68
- Supply voltage: 5 V (DS1307 range 4.5–5.5 V)
- Square-wave output: SQW pin, 1 Hz to 32.768 kHz
- Backup: coin cell battery included
RTC DS1307 24C32 Real Time Clock Applications
- Digital clocks, timers and alarms
- Data loggers that stamp each reading with the time and date
- Scheduled watering, lighting and feeding systems
- Attendance and access logs
What's in the Box
- 1 × DS1307 24C32 RTC module
- 1 × coin cell backup battery
Tip: Use a library such as RTClib, set the time once, and the battery keeps it from then on. The DS1307 needs a 5 V supply, so it suits 5 V boards such as the Arduino Uno; its accuracy depends on the crystal and temperature, so re-sync the time now and then or choose a DS3231 for better accuracy.
