Description
The SD Card Module lets an Arduino, ESP32 or other microcontroller read and write files on an SD memory card through the SPI bus. It is the simplest way to add large storage to a project, whether you want to log sensor readings to a CSV file, save settings, or keep images and sound files for a display or audio player.
SD Card Module Specifications
- Function: read and write SD memory cards
- Interface: SPI (CS, SCK, MOSI, MISO) plus power and ground
- File system: FAT16 / FAT32 with the Arduino SD library
- Memory card: not included
SD Card Module Applications
- Data loggers for temperature, humidity and energy readings
- Saving GPS tracks and sensor history to CSV files
- Storing images for TFT displays
- Playing sound files with an audio module
- Keeping settings and configuration files
What's in the Box
- 1 × SD card module (memory card not included)
Tip: Format the card as FAT32, or FAT16 for cards of 2 GB or less, before use. Check the module's pin labels: power it from 5 V only if it has a 5 V pin with an on-board 3.3 V regulator; otherwise use 3.3 V, since SD cards run at 3.3 V. Start with the SD library's CardInfo example to test the wiring.
