Transformer 12-0-12V 1VA

The Transformer 12-0-12V 1VA is a miniature centre-tapped step-down transformer with a 12-0-12 V AC secondary and a 1 VA power rating. It provides 12 V AC on each half or 24 V AC across the full winding at about 40 mA, making it a neat, isolated source for small dual-rail supplies, op-amp circuits, mains sensing and standby power.

Tip: Each 12 V half gives about 16 V DC after rectification and filtering at light load, and more with no load, so use capacitors rated 25 V or higher. Keep the total load to a few tens of milliamps, insulate the mains primary and fit a fuse.
