Transformer 12-0-12V 5VA

The Transformer 12-0-12V 5VA is a low-power centre-tapped step-down transformer with a 12-0-12 V secondary and a 5 VA rating. It gives 12 V AC on each half of the secondary, or 24 V AC across the full winding. It is meant for light loads such as control circuits, small op-amp supplies, timers and sensor boards that run from mains but draw little current.

Tip: At 5 VA this transformer is made for light loads of around 200 mA; for motors, LED strips or amplifiers choose a 20 VA or 30 VA model instead. The primary connects to mains voltage, so insulate the primary connections, add a fuse and never work on it while it is plugged in.
