Transformer 18-0-18V 1VA

The Transformer 18-0-18V 1VA is a miniature centre-tapped step-down transformer with an 18-0-18 V AC secondary and a 1 VA power rating. It supplies 18 V AC per half or 36 V AC end to end at a very low current of about 28 mA, so it suits circuits that need an isolated supply but little power, such as op-amp bias rails, mains sensing, standby power and reference circuits.

Tip: At only 1 VA, keep the load to a few tens of milliamps. Miniature transformers read much higher than 18 V with no load, so use 50 V filter capacitors and check the output under your real load. The primary connects to mains: insulate it and fit a fuse.
