Ultrasonic Sensor Grove

The Ultrasonic Sensor Grove is a non-contact distance sensor with a Grove connector, so it plugs into a Grove base shield or Grove-compatible board with one cable and no soldering. It sends out 40 kHz sound pulses and times the echo to measure the distance to an object, using a single signal pin for both trigger and echo.

Tip: Install the Grove Ultrasonic Ranger library in the Arduino IDE and connect the sensor to a digital Grove port; the library returns the distance in centimetres. Soft or angled surfaces reflect less sound, so readings are most reliable on flat, hard objects.
