Description
The Ultraviolet Sensor UVM-30A is a small UV detection module that gives an analog voltage proportional to the ultraviolet light falling on it. It responds to the 200–370 nm range, which covers UVB and most of the UVA band, and draws very little current, so it suits weather stations, UV index meters and sun exposure alarms built with an Arduino or ESP32.
Ultraviolet Sensor UVM-30A Specifications
- Model: UVM-30A
- Spectral response: 200–370 nm
- Supply voltage: 3–5 V DC
- Output: analog, 0–1 V DC
- Current draw: 0.06 mA typical, 0.1 mA maximum
- Accuracy: ±1 UV index
- Operating temperature: −20 to +85 °C
- Pins: power, ground and analog output
Ultraviolet Sensor UVM-30A Applications
- DIY UV index meters and weather stations
- Sun exposure warnings for outdoor activities
- Checking UV lamps and UV curing setups
- Science lessons on sunlight and radiation
What's in the Box
- 1 × UVM-30A ultraviolet sensor module
Tip: Because the output never goes above about 1 V, set the Arduino Uno to its 1.1 V internal analog reference for much better resolution. Point the sensor straight at the sky without glass or plastic in front of it, as most windows block UV.
