Description

The Grove flame sensor YG-1006 detects fire by sensing the infrared light given off by a flame. It is built around the YG1006 phototransistor, a high-speed, high-sensitivity NPN silicon sensor, and connects to Arduino and Seeed boards through a standard 4-pin Grove cable, so you can build fire alarms and flame detectors without soldering.

Grove flame sensor YG-1006 Specifications

  • Sensor: YG1006 NPN silicon phototransistor
  • Spectral range: about 760–1100 nm (infrared)
  • Interface: Grove 4-pin connector
  • Operating voltage: 5 V
  • Output: digital flame-detected signal
  • Features: high speed and high sensitivity

Grove flame sensor YG-1006 Applications

  • Fire alarm and flame detection projects
  • Flame monitoring in DIY safety and home automation builds
  • Fire-fighting robot competitions
  • STEM and Arduino learning projects

What's in the Box

  • 1 × Grove flame sensor module (YG1006)

Tip: Plug the sensor into a digital port on a Grove Base Shield, and keep sunlight and strong lamps out of its view, because they also give off infrared light and can cause false alarms. It is a hobby and learning sensor, not a certified fire detector.
