Description

The Grove NFC ST25DV64K is a dynamic NFC/RFID tag board built around the ST25DV64K chip from STMicroelectronics. A phone or NFC reader can read and write its memory wirelessly, while your Arduino, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi reads and writes the same memory over I2C through the Grove connector. It runs from 3.3 V or 5 V, so it fits most maker boards.

Grove NFC ST25DV64K Specifications

  • Chip: STMicroelectronics ST25DV64K dynamic NFC/RFID tag IC
  • Memory: 64 Kbit (8 KB) EEPROM, shared between the RF and I2C sides
  • RF standard: ISO/IEC 15693, NFC Forum Type 5 tag, 13.56 MHz
  • Wired interface: I2C through a Grove 4-pin connector
  • Supply voltage: 3.3 V or 5 V
  • Chip features: fast transfer mode with mailbox, password protection of memory areas, energy harvesting

Grove NFC ST25DV64K Applications

  • Smart posters and product tags that open a link or contact card on a phone
  • Setting up an Arduino or ESP32 device from a smartphone without Wi-Fi
  • Storing data that a phone can read even when the device is switched off
  • Access control, asset tracking and IoT learning projects

What's in the Box

  • 1 × Grove NFC ST25DV64K tag board

Tip: Connect the board to an I2C Grove port, or to SDA, SCL, VCC and GND on your board, and use an ST25DV library in the Arduino IDE (STMicroelectronics publishes one). Keep metal away from the antenna area, as it shortens the reading distance.
